VoIP Openexchange Integration / CallAssistant

Welcome to the VoIP Openexchange integration website.

This is a student reserach project of University of Applied Science Rapperswil. The following text describes the task solved by that project. Please read the documents for further information.

This student research project solves two problems: IP telephony will be implemented at the Stiftung Buehl due to shortage in capacity of the existing telephone system. The new system will be working together with the existing telephone system. The core of this new environment is an Asterisk server which acts as a gateway within every single call. This makes it a full private branch exchange which does not represent a usual IP telephony solution but aims to integrate with other telephone systems.

A call assistant will be integrated into Netline Openexchange Server which is used as a collaboration and groupware solution at Stiftung Buehl. With this call assistant it is possible to initiate and handle calls from within the contacts database of the Openexchange Server. This call assistant does not represent a soft phone but extends the panel of a hard phone. It communicates with Asterisk using the so called Manager API (CTI).
